In the Old Testament, the lamb is used as a picture of Christ. On the night before Passover, an unblemished lamb was sacrificed and its blood painted on the doorposts. That night, Death passed over that household.
What comes to your mind when you think about the Passover lamb?
Does it look like this?
The lamb in the picture is only 5 months old. The lamb that God required for the sacrifice had to be at least a year old. A lamb that is over a year old is called a yearling.
This is what a yearling looks like…
When Jesus returns – the second time – He will not come as a lamb, but as a lion – the Lion of Judah.
